More about the Virtual Reality experiences
Scuba
Family medicine faculty members, medical students and learners from all backgrounds can use this VR application as a pedagogical tool for producing a safe environment to teach about stress and anxiety, its causes and treatments as well as tool and strategies to deal with stress and anxiety in their daily lives.
Dive in, explore and immersive yourself in the underwater world. Your dive buddy will guide and support you through your journey of learning about stress and anxiety’s causes, symptoms and some mechanisms you can use outside of VR to improve your well-being.
CC&S
In partnership with Ottawa based, PropelVR and DFM’s PMO team of coop students an introductory, immersive virtual reality (VR) experience has been built to demonstrate how VR can be leveraged to teach and learn concepts outside of traditional methods.
Walk the virtual school’s hallway, explore and playthrough interactions on your way to French class. Learn how contaminates can be transmitted and subsequently controlled in these everyday exchanges.
At the conclusion of this immersive experience, learners will be able to:
● Identify common causes, and types of hazardous contamination
● Recognize how people introduce vectors for contaminant spread
● Recall how to prevent & protect against contamination spread
